Our Commitments

Sharafi News is an independent digital financial publisher. We report on global markets, the Gulf economy, technology and world affairs for investors, professionals and decision-makers who need to understand what is happening — and why it matters.

Our credibility is our most valuable asset. Every piece of journalism we publish is held to the same set of commitments, set out below.

• Accuracy first. We verify facts before publication and correct errors promptly and transparently when they occur.
• Objectivity. We report fairly, presenting context and opposing views so readers can make up their own minds.
• Separation of news and opinion. Reporting is clearly distinguished from analysis and commentary.
• Transparency. We disclose our sources where possible, flag uncertainty and correct mistakes in full.
• Independence. Our editorial decisions are never influenced by advertisers, sponsors or any third party.

Accuracy & Fact-Checking

Accuracy is the foundation of everything we do. Before a story is published, our editors verify names, numbers, dates, figures and the claims of any source. Financial reporting carries particular responsibility: a misplaced decimal or an unattributed figure can cost readers real money.

Our fact-checking process includes:

• Independent verification of market data, statistics and quotes against primary sources wherever available.
• Cross-checking sensitive or consequential claims with more than one reliable source.
• Flagging uncertainty directly in the article when information cannot be fully verified.
• Requiring attribution for any factual claim not independently established by our reporting.

Objectivity & Fair Reporting

We report news fairly and without favor toward any company, government, asset class or viewpoint. Our journalists approach every story with an open mind and a willingness to be corrected by evidence.

In practice this means: we attribute claims to their sources, we include material context that a reader needs to judge a development, and we seek comment from parties that are the subject of critical reporting before publication. We do not take sides in the stories we cover.

Separating News from Opinion

News reporting and opinion are distinct forms of journalism, and we keep them clearly separated. News stories report what happened and why it matters, grounded in verifiable facts. Analysis, commentary and opinion pieces interpret, contextualize and judge — and they are always labeled as such.

Readers should never have to guess whether they are reading a factual news report or a point of view. When we publish analysis or opinion, the piece is clearly marked, and bylined opinion does not speak for the newsroom.

Sourcing & Attribution

We prefer named, on-the-record sources. When anonymity is necessary — for example, to protect a source from retaliation — we explain why, and we never use unnamed sources to advance a partisan agenda or settle scores.

• Named sources are identified with their role and, where relevant, their stake in the story.
• Anonymous sourcing is approved by an editor and disclosed to readers.
• We attribute statistics and data to their origin, and we link to primary documents when available.
• We do not pay sources for information.

Independence & Conflicts of Interest

Sharafi News maintains a strict separation between its editorial operations and its business operations. Advertising and sponsorship revenue does not — and cannot — influence what we publish, how we rank stories or how we treat any subject. Our advertising policy sets out the same commitment for commercial partners.

Our journalists are expected to disclose any personal financial interest that could reasonably appear to influence their reporting. Editorial decisions are made by the newsroom alone.

Corrections

When we make a mistake, we correct it promptly and make the correction visible. Significant errors are acknowledged at the top of the article with a note explaining what was wrong, what was corrected and when.
